Northeast Juniors Shine in Northwest Super Regional Junior Badminton Tournament

The Northwest Super Regional Tournament held last Feb 18-20 in Seattle is one of four most heavily weighted national ranking junior badminton tournaments. MASSBAD TEAM DOUBLES LEAGUE UPDATE

MAUGUS WINS DIVISION A/B CHAMPIONSHIP
Coach Pashupati Paneru lead the Maugus Team to win the 2012 Division A/B Championship.  The Maugus Team tied with Boston Express with a 4-1 win record but edged out second place Boston Express Team by points.  Boston Falcons placed third, followed by the Swordfish and the Marblehead Youth Badminton (MYB) Teams.  The MYB Team started well beating Maugus 6-1 until team captain Nick Vered sustained an injury.

TRAINING CAMP FOR COMPETITIVE JUNIORS Jun 21-23, 25-29

The 8 day Training Camp for competitive juniors will begin as soon as summer vacation starts.  These are the juniors preparing to participate in the Bay States Games on Jun 30-Jul 1, US Open on Jul 3-8 and Junior Nationals on Jul 9-15.  Juniors will be divided into intermediate and advance level; each group will train for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon.  Registration information can be found in http://bostonbadminton.com/sites/default/files/2012%20Competitive%20Junior%20Training%20Camp.pdf .

Club Activities Continue on Mar 3

The MassBad Doubles League will use 3 courts in the Club.  Members and guests will have 3 courts to play on while the tournament is going on.  All training sessions will continue as usual.  There will be no court reservation during the tournament.
Friday night is A night.  Members and guests, please note that it is likely that the Division A/B participants are likely going to practice on Fri, Mar 2.  They and other A players will have priority in court use.  It is strongly suggested that C and D players avoid using the courts after 7 pm.     

MASSBad Doubles League: DIVISION A/B TEAMS PLAY ON MAR 3

LATEST UPDATE: Five Teams will compete for the Division A/B title of the MassBad Doubles League: Maugus Club, Marblehead Youth Badminton, Boston Falcons, Boston Express and Boston Swordfish.  The tournament will be held at Boston Badminton from 9:30 am to 10 pm.   The Club will open at 9 am.  Schedule of play is as follows:
